DogPlanet is a community-driven mobile application that maps all dogs in an area — stray or owned — enabling communities to track their situation, coordinate rescues, find shelters and fosters, and report lost pets. Built on a foundation of real-world impact, DogPlanet introduces the DOGP token — a Solana-based utility token that rewards users for engaging with the platform. A fixed 20% of the total token supply is held in the treasury of Save Our Paws, a registered Romanian non-profit with a proven track record in animal rescue, aligning every action in the DogPlanet ecosystem with tangible humanitarian impact.
Stray dogs represent one of the most visible and persistent animal welfare challenges globally. According to WHO estimates, there are over 200 million stray dogs worldwide. Key problems include:
DogPlanet addresses all four problems through a single mobile application powered by community participation and blockchain-based rewards.
Users can report any dog — stray or family-owned — with a photo and GPS location. All reports appear on a shared live map visible to all users, creating a continuously updated, community-maintained registry of dogs in each area. By mapping owned dogs alongside strays, DogPlanet enables communities to build a complete neighbourhood picture of the local dog population, making it easier to identify animals that are genuinely without a home.
Dog owners can register their own pets in the app — including breed, name, photo, and location — contributing to the neighbourhood dog map and helping distinguish owned animals from strays.
Owners can report a lost dog directly in the app, including last known location, photo, and description. Other users in the area see the alert and can report sightings. The same system allows users to report a dog they have found, connecting them with the owner.
Users can upload a photo of a dog and search the DogPlanet database for visually matching reports in the area. This image-based search helps owners find their lost pet by comparing against all dogs previously reported nearby.
Each dog on the map has an attached community chat thread where users can coordinate rescue efforts, share updates on a dog's condition, or arrange feeding runs. Users can also send private messages to each other for one-on-one coordination.
A global map of animal shelters — including contact information and location — is available inside the app. Any user can submit a shelter or post a foster offer, making the database self-expanding. Foster listings connect dogs in need with families willing to provide a temporary home.
